Amenities

Telita is the most luxurious liveaboard of her size operating in Papua New Guinea. Since purchased in 2003 the vessel has undergone several extensive refits. All five cabins have been renovated and now have modern well-appointed ensuite bathrooms, individually controlled air conditioning, hair dryers, and dual voltage power. Situated on the main deck is the premium cabin, featuring a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. On the lower deck are two cabins with a small double bed and a single upper, as well as two cabins with two single bunks, all four rooms feature ensuite bathrooms. Free laundry service is also provided.

A large entertainment, barbecue and bar area provide open-air accommodations for meals and socializing, while an indoor air-conditioned saloon with a DVD player and reading library provides a place to relax in cool comfort. Captained by a great dive host, Telita’s crew includes an experienced marine naturalist as well as an onboard chef who will indulge you with delicious meals.

Activities

Although Telita is designed for the serious diver, shore excursions are taken from time to time such as visits to nearby waterfalls and skull caves. Many villages line the shores of the islands nearby the dive sites and can be visited. Telita, which was built by Milne Bay shipwrights, is welcomed on her travels to these villages where fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, and artifacts are purchased or traded.

Diving

Telita offers up to five dives per day. The dive deck features a camera table, hot showers, and a spacious diving platform. Two inflatable tenders are also available should the need arise. During your trip, Telita’s staff handles your gear, from the initial set-up to washing it at the end of the week, resulting in a more relaxing vacation and allowing you to spend more time just enjoying yourself.

Telita stops at some of Papua New Guinea’s most fascinating dive sites, such as critter-rich muck dives near Observation Point, majestic open reefs, wall dives, the wreck of a B17 bomber, and a number of other wreck diving sites.
