Tiata

Boat

By combining traditional concepts with modern technology, functionality, and comfort, Tiata provides the ideal platform from which you can explore Papua New Guinea; a marine environment containing one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems on this planet. The Tiata philosophy is one that prioritizes your comfort while offering you the opportunity to experience a luxurious adventure.

The Tiata was designed and built to a recipe rather than a price. The water level dive deck allows effortless access to the dive while being unobtrusive. The five twin share cabins are all equipped with vanity units and silent adjustable air conditioners. On board systems installed on Tiata ensure that your adventure is enjoyed in total comfort and safety. Active gyro controlled stabilizer systems and passive extended boom stabilizers (flopper-stoppers) provide maximum stability while underway or at anchor. Engine room soundproofing reduces machine noise pollution to a mere hum.

The biodiversity of Papua New Guinea’s marine eco-systems makes her waters a world-renowned dive destination. Offering superlative mangrove, reef, wall and wreck diving it is little wonder that Tiata enjoys the company of many return guests coming to dive the environs of Milne bay and Kavieng with Tiata.

Ultimately, Tiata is a luxury motor yacht that offers a small group of friends, family or individuals the experience and adventure of a lifetime in the waters of Papua New Guinea.

Diving

The dive deck is where much of the action on board the Tiata takes place. Its design allows easy and comfortable access to and from the water. Situated below and aft of the main deck level, the dive deck keeps your personal dive equipment, weights and tanks easily accessible and tidy.

As the dive deck is at water level, two steps followed by a stride give you direct access to Papua New Guinea's underwater world. Centrally placed ladders allow for multiple and simultaneous entries and exits without congestion. Alternatively, Tiata's 15ft custom-built rigid hull inflatable tender will deliver you to and from the dive deck. Dive deck amenities include a choice of various sized steel and aluminum tanks, custom built camera rinse bins, fresh water showers, and dry dive deck towels.

The spectacular diving of Papua New Guinea is enhanced when diving with Tiata. The freedom to dive within your own limits, as well as the assistance and enthusiasm of our experienced crew, are what make the Tiata diving experience something very unique.

Tiata operates mainly in the environs of Milne Bay and Kavieng although adventures can and have been designed throughout Papua New Guinea’s waters. Rising from depths of 3000 feet or more to island peaks of over 1000 feet, the topography of Milne bay is simply breath taking. The rainforest-covered mountains are spectacular and seascapes stunning. Milne Bay is biodiversity itself; muck, wreck, reef and blue water habitats all within only a few hours travel of each other. Milne bay can provide blue water pelagic interaction in the morning and the opportunity to pursue bizarre creatures on volcanic sand in the afternoon.

Kavieng is a small town nestled in the equatorial waters of northern New Ireland. Surrounded by hundreds of small islands covered with native rainforest and coconut plantations Kavieng is truly a tropical paradise. Most of the islands are low and are part of a maze that separates New Ireland and New Hanover creating hundreds of channels and passages. Due to the influence of the strong equatorial currents that flow between the islands, these channels and passages are abound with invertebrate life and teeming with pelagic and reef fish. Although Kavieng is known for its exhilarating diving it is also endowed with some wonderful macro opportunities and historical Second World War wrecks.
