South Africa Safari Camps
South Africa has a variety of safari camps in the many
different ecosystems that the vast country offers. Kruger National Park,
perhaps the most famous of all the parks here, is the most delightful up north where
it blends in with the protected areas of Zimbabwe and Mozambique. A two decade
long successful game relocation project has brought Madikwe Private Game
Reserve the enviable accolade of “Super Seven” – here you can see not only the
Big Five but also cheetah and the endangered African wild dog in their original
stomping grounds. Another excellent
example of rehabilitation and conservation is Kwande Private Game Reserve, a wonderful
ending point for your Garden Route journey.
Sabi Sand Game Reserve shares an unfenced border with Kruger and is the place to go to observe the leopard. Ngala Private Game Reserve is also attached to Kruger and is famous for its large herds of elephants, buffalo and rhino. Phinda Private Game Reserve has for years been one of the favorite safari locations due to its excellent accommodations, superb wildlife sightings and easy access to Sodwana for scuba diving.
