Kayak over teeming lagoon reefs, visit with local villages, stay in simple eco-lodges, enjoy cultural activities and great natural beauty … all while on the protected warm waters of the lagoon and its surroundings. Your kayak takes you to seldom visited spots where you can experience the real Solomon Islands, both people and nature.

The well-planned adventures start from Uepi Island Resort with a day of learning the equipment, safety procedures, area familirization, and finalizing your trip itinerary. The day includes a trial kayaking trip and skill review, and plenty of time to relax at the resort. Your kayaking adventure begins the next morning and you will paddle three to four hours per day at touring pace (it’s not a race – you are here to see the islands!), stopping for refreshments, swimming and snorkeling. Kayaking trips are arranged from three nights to two weeks, all custom-designed to fit your interests and activity level.

Solomon Islands kayakingEquipment provided include Sea Lion single kayaks, life jackets designed for kayaking, paddles, dry bags, water bottles and other essentials. Good quality masks and fins for snorkeling are brought along for enjoying the underwater scenery. You will overnight at an eco-lodge built from bush materials with comfortable sleeping arrangements including mosquito nets and a communal flush bathroom with a shower. The lodges will cater your meals, and offer additional local touring such as bush walks, bird watching, visits to local markets, tours to sacred sites, cultural performances and opportunities to join fishing and gathering with villagers. As all the lodges are small with two or three bedrooms, the trips by necessity are for small groups only.
