Palau Special Deals

PRayalau declared its waters a shark sanctuary two years ago. Next came the Maldives, then Honduras and the Bahamas - and now, following Palau's example, the other islands of Micronesia including Guam and Marshall Islands have completed the amazing feat of banning shark fishing in more than two million square miles of their combined waters. While the ban will be hard to enforce, the effort is applauded and further education in shark fin soup consuming nations including the United States is ongoing. Economic studies suggest a single live shark can be worth more than a million dollars to a local tourism spot – not to mention how important sharks are to the reef ecosystem. Please join us in praise for Palau, its neighbours and all the nations banning shark fishing.
